Not me, personally, I hasten to add. Nor is Younger Son sick, and he is in and out of the Manor every couple of days. Ree, my 80-something friend, is also safe for now. He had two flu shots in September and he feels OK.
Being the rebel I am, I did not get a flu shot this year--nor have I EVER gotten a flu shot. If you really don't understand why someone would prefer to forgo this extra jab every fall or winter, post a comment below.
If you just want to argue with me or pressure me to get a flu shot, this blog is not for you. Please go and play somewhere else.
The disease is spreading fairly quickly in a community of 60 to 70 souls. A few days ago, only a half-dozen people asked to have meals served in their rooms ("room trays," this is called). Today, the count is 16 or so.
There are signs in the elevators suggesting that people with cold or flu symptoms ask for room trays rather than eating downstairs. They also ask that people with symptoms report to the nurse.
Sick residents are asked to have visitors--friends, relatives, or others--stay away until their symptoms improve.

Ah, the joys of airborne contagion in a small community. I wish you good health, safe breathing, and a glorious new year.

I'm on Tamiflu, but not sure that I need(ed) to be. Going to ask my doctor.
So far, no flu symptoms, but I do have a stuffy nose and a bit of a sore throat--that's a cold.

Liebe Jeanne!
I never ever get flu shots, and over the last 30 years, I only had the flu once. The mere thought of getting all that stuff injected while I have to be HEALTHY to have it, makes me sick.
Liz seems to speak some German ;-) Ja, Gesundheit Jeanne!

I have friends who are going through chemotherapy, and they make the darkest, most hideous cancer jokes you've ever heard.
