Stephen Njuguna of Fred Lind Manor called me Friday to tell me that I would not be able to return home that day.
Not only that, Stephen said, but I am not welcome back at the Manor at all. I asked who had made the decision, and he admitted that the decision to leave me homeless was made by a committee of two--himself and Mark Mullen, the executive director of Fred Lind Manor in Seattle.
Of course, the Friday before Christmas is a terrible time to sort this problem out--everyone is rushing out the door--but I am doing my best.
Despite what Stephen said, I do expect to return to Fred Lind. Monday, perhaps.
See:
I'll be spending the day today--Sunday--writing letters pleading my case, and also getting in touch with the state DSHS.
I know, it's Sunday, but I can leave a voice mail on my contact's phone and also send him an e-mail timed to be there Monday early a.m.
@ Jeanne Sather 2012.
I have a fairly nice guestroom waiting for you in Massachusetts if it comes down to that.

Oh Jeanne. I'm so sorry. Do you think it might help to have a professional mediator step in?

Susan--thank you. I may take you up on it.
Liz--great idea. Let me look into it.

Well, @#$%! That is, words fail me. This ranks right up there with the time our boss made the layoff announcement at the Christmas party.
How can we help you through this crap?
Sending so much love, light and laughter

That's the spirit - get some more important people on your side!
You DO have rights. Hopefully the contact person will get back to you early on.

It seems to me like someone on staff at Harborview should be putting in some urgent calls to and pressuring the right people, in an effort to help you vacate their highly coveted bed space.
