Lolita

Very spicy soup. Spicy as in cayenne. The spiciness clears out the respiratory system.

Jeanne

Spicy fresh vegetable soup with plenty of garlic and peppers. And hot tea with honey and lemon. It probably doesn't help but it makes me like I'm fighting back.

Ed

Hot peppermint tea with honey, lemon juice, and a "splash" of whiskey. The whiskey helps to relax muscles and other tensions...

Sometimes I have one of these after a rough day at work too... but with a bigger splash. The result is similar.

:)

Maggie

The Chinese restaurant's Hot and Sour soup. Sliced ginger. Sushi with wasabe. As Lolita said, the sharp flavor seems to clear my sinuses and lungs.

Jeanne, what do you eat when YOU have the flu?

Jeanne

I haven't had the flu for so long that I barely remember. When I was a kid, with stomach flu, my mom used to give me 7-Up and soda crackers.

More recently, I think I like thin Japanese soups.

My big problem is drinking enough--but of course I don't have the flu now, and I still have that problem. I'll finish my coffee and chase it with a glass of water.

Tea later. Lots of gifts of tea for Christmas--lucky me!
