I'm reminded of Older Son's question shortly after he found out that I had breast cancer (he was 13 at the time). He asked me (paraphrasing here, this was a long time ago) How can (or does) breast cancer hurt you?

You know, I was stumped. I did not know the answer. I asked my oncologist to explain at my next appointment. Then I explained to my wise child.

I don't think I have defined breast cancer anywhere on this blog. In six or seven years of writing ... so someone please give it a try.
